Just when you thought Facebook was slowing down, it introduces a whole new game changer: Food Ordering.
Rolling out across the US, this next step in Facebook’s evolution aims to boost the utility of the social media platform by giving its users a more simple, fast and convenient method of food ordering & delivery.
In just a few taps, users can now order food from their favourite national food chains, like Chipotle, Five Guys and Papa John’s, and can browse and discover participating restaurants & cafe in their vicinity. To make things even easier, Facebook has merged the use of multiple US food delivery services such as Eatstreets, Delivery.com, DoorDash and Olo to bring everything users need into one app.
The advantage that Facebook has in this case is that users can see how their friends have rated different restaurants, giving them a more assured satisfaction in their choice.
Although only available in the US, its only time before this feature arrives on Aussie shores, bringing tough competition for similar services like Uber Eats and Deliveroo.
It’s a good step in the right direction for Facebook, as statistics show that engagement has dropped over the last two years, and this feature may just give users that extra excuse to keep ‘liking’ their platform.
